Stephen Quaderer

Stephen brings over 18 years of strategic, financial, and operational experience in the technology and financial services industries, helping companies define and execute their strategic priorities. With over $8.5 billion in personal league table transactions, Stephen’s experience as an operator and advisor spans his time at Goldman Sachs, AppNexus, Stride Consulting, as a multiple-time tech founder, and as the founder of Catapult Associates. His diverse background provides a rich set of insights to help your business achieve its goals.

Catapult Associates — highlights:

  • Advised Verana Health on its acquisition of PYA Analytics and $100 milllion financing round led by Google Ventures, with new investors Bain Capital Ventures, Casdin Capital and Define ventures

  • Acted as Program Manager for Verana Health’s data ingestion, integration and augmentation processes associated with PYA Analytics

  • Sole financial advisor to Stride Consulting LLC on its $6 million preferred unit sale to Alaris Royalty Corp.

  • Interim CFO for Stride Consulting from May 2019 through February 2020


    AppNexus, Inc.— highlights:

  • Member of select executive team that prepared AppNexus for an M&A outcome as part of “dual-track” IPO process, culminating in a successful exit to AT&T for $1.6 billion

  • Member of internal team entrusted with preparing AppNexus for IPO (“Project Catapult”), playing key role in drafting S-1, clearing comments with SEC and enabling full IPO optionality

  • Global Head of Corporate Development

  • CFO for AppNexus’ largest business unit, with responsibility for >$100 million GAAP revenue

  • Founded and managed the Financial Insights Group; responsible for forecasting AppNexus’ revenue, modelling its multi-sided marketplace, supporting strategic planning processes, dashboarding and reporting, and delivering FP&A insights to Product, Commercial and Services organizations  

  • Oversaw valuation and financial diligence relating to Alenty, OAS, RMLA and YieldEx acquisitions

Goldman Sachs’ Firmwide Strategy Group — highlights:

  • Executed $3 billion co-investment in the firm’s flagship quantitative fund Global Equity Opportunities, including $2.3 billion of the firm’s own capital, during financial crisis

  • Executed spinoff of the firm’s proprietary long / short investment arm, Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies into the Goldman Sachs Investment Partners fund complex

  • Executed acquisition of Macquarie-IMM, a South Korean asset manager with >$10 billion in assets under management

  • Executed acquisition of RBSAM Global Treasury Funds, a European asset manager

  • Evaluated acquisition of a UK-based wrap technology platform with over £10B in assets under administration

  • Analyzed financial, operational and oversight implications of converting to a Bank Holding Company regulatory framework for Goldman Sachs’ Board of Directors; ultimately executed upon during financial crisis
